Sealladh na Mara (Gaelic for 'view of the sea') is a spacious, modern, detached house, set in about an acre of wild, partly wooded garden, close to the seashore, along a quiet lane.
Accommodation A verandah and balcony overlook the sea, and there are stunning views across the bay to the Assynt mountains, the River Kirkaig and the Inverpolly NNR. The seashore is accessible just below the property. - The house is furnished and equipped to a very high standard, with full oil-fired central heating and double glazing.
 - There is a multi-fuel stove in the sitting room, and double doors in the dining room open onto the verandah.
- The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with double oven, ceramic hob and dishwasher, with washing machine and condenser dryer in the adjoining utility room.
- There are four large bedrooms: a downstairs double beside a shower room, two upstairs twin rooms, and an upstairs bedroom with king-size bed and door onto the balcony. The upstairs bathroom has a whirlpool spa bath.
 - There are plenty of books, maps, games and tourist information leaflets.
- Garden furniture is provided, as are a cot with bedding, high chair, baby bath, stair gate and fireguard.
- There is level parking for several cars.
- On arrival, a small 'welcome pack' of Scottish produce awaits visitors.
- The rental price includes central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, welcome pack and, in winter, an initial supply of fuel for the stove.
The surrounding area is famed for its wildlife: otters, seals, red and roe deer, pine martens, golden eagles, divers, and rich plant-life, including many species of orchid. The region's geology is of great interest. There are fine white-sand beaches nearby. Inverkirkaig has an excellent bookshop/cafe. The village of Lochinver (2.5 miles) has shops, restaurants, bank, petrol/diesel, sports centre and many other facilities.
