Scarvataing is situated in Aith which is on the west side of Shetland approximately 20 miles from Lerwick. This is a very central and comfortable base to explore Shetland. It is a relaxing and peaceful place, ideal for hill and coastal walks, bird watching, sea and trout fishing. The sea shore in front of the house is habitat to many seals, otters and various sea birds. Spectacular sea views and sunsets.  

• It is heated throughout by oil central heating which also heats the water.
• All heating and electricity costs are included in the price and all bed linen and towels are supplied.
• A new and comfortable sun porch enables you to enjoy the views and sunsets.
• There is a private driveway with parking right outside.
• There is a leisure centre, shop, church, school and bus stop all within a 15 minute walk.
• A welcome pack includes home baking and Shetland produce. There is a complimentary in-house stock of tea, coffee, toilet roll etc.
• Childs cot / bedlinen and highchair available on request.

There are maps and books on Walks in Shetland for visitors to use. Bird watching information in Shetland is recorded and kept up to date for visitors. Leaflets on tourist attractions and events is supplied. There is a good selection of Shetland music, Shetland bird books and Shetland nature.
