Safe Haven a typical Cornish cottage, dating from the early 1800's, is in the village of Tywardreath. The village was used by Daphne Du Maurier as the setting for her book House on the Strand. Close by is Menabilly, called Mandalay in her book "Rebecca" on the way to Polkerris Cove, following the Saints Way to the ancient Port of Fowey.
  • Various festivals take place during the year, in Fowey during May there is the Daphne Du Maurier festival of arts and literature, and in August the Fowey Regatta.
  • The local beach is half mile walk with stunning views overlooking St Austell Bay. The beach is clean and swimming friendly with ample parking.
  • For a small village the amenities are very good. There is an excellent butcher, a Londis and chippie. There are both C of E and Methodist churches in the village. Various supermarkets are within easy reach.
  • The pub is The New Inn and comes highly recommended. Nearby you will find a number of excellent Pub/Restaurants as well as a Royal British Legion.
  • Local attractions include the Eden Project (10 mins by car), Lanhydrock (National Trust house and parkland), Readymoney Cove, Fowey, Charlestown (Poldark) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
 Amenities include:
  • Bedrooms: 1 Double & 1 Twin. Duvets are to each bed (linen is supplied).
  • Lounge with TV and DVD player.
  • Open plan Dining room and newly fitted Kitchen complete with washing machine, refrigerator, oven/hob, microwave etc.
