Rowan House is award winning and environmentally responsible and is situated on the edge of the historical and beautiful village of Alton, near Alton Towers, within the Staffordshire Moorlands in the Peak District area. Rowan House is a sunny, south facing and inviting house, which overlooks the rolling Staffordshire countryside. The garden, which has been organically managed for 16 years and includes a herb garden, is private and safe for children.
 
 Alton is a large village steeped in history. It has played host to Romans, Saxons and Victorians and now has 6 pubs/restaurants, village shops, a Post Office and 3 churches. All of these are within a few minutes walk of the house.
Accommodation The house is comfortable and roomy and comprises four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sleeping up to 7 people, (plus a Z-bed and a cot). Maggie and her daughter Emily have taken great care to ensure that the house is decorated to a very high standard and provides for your every comfort. Rowan House is ideally situated for walking, the Peak District, historic towns and National Trust properties. Rowan House is ideal for 2 families or groups of friends. We now have a bespoke service allowing guests to book catering, pampering, guided walks and climbing etc.
