Rowanglen Cottage provides a lovely base from which to explore the scenic and historic Galloway countryside and coastline of the Solway Firth. Converted from a traditional Galloway stone byre, the property has a secluded garden and enjoys a private aspect within a quiet village location.

The towns of Dalbeattie (4 miles) and Dumfries (8 miles) both offer a good selection of everyday shopping as well as a variety of pubs and restaurants.
The pretty market town of Castle Douglas (10 miles) is well known for its unique shopping experience as well as its title of Food Town.
A superb location for enjoying country and coastal walks, sandy beaches, golf courses, off and on road cycling, three internationally known 7 Stanes mountain bike circuits are within a 19 mile radius - Dalbeattie (4m), Mabie (9m), and AE (19m) Forests.
As well as fishing and shooting, the area is renowned for its wildlife and nature reserves. Galloway Forest Park - recently designated Dark Sky status is close by offering numerous outdoor activities. Alternatively relax and browse around pretty seaside villages such as Rockcliffe and Kippford.
An ideal location for both families and couples at any time of year.
