Welcome to Rose's Cottage - so named as it belonged to a Mr Thomas Rose in Victorian times.
We would like to think that Broadwell is in one of the best locations in the Cotswolds. Close by many attractions, walks, historic and beautiful villages and towns. And next door to a traditional country inn, the Fox Inn, on the village green. Come and relax, hear the dawn chorus and gaze at the stars in the night sky.
The Fox, which won the CAMRA North Cotswold Pub of the Year Award in 2007, is supplied with local ales from Donnington Brewery, the Good Pub Guide's Brewery of the Year 2010, only two miles away. Visit during the summer on a Thursday evening and see the game of "Aunt Sally" played in the beer garden.

Thanks to everyone visiting to take the trouble to write such kind comments in the guestbook, as well as their personal recommendations for a good day out:

"Thanks for everything. The weather was bad but the 2 good days we made full use of and relaxed on the bad days. As self-catering owners ourselves, we found your cottage perfect. Handy to have a great pub next door!"

"As always we have really enjoyed our stay at Rose's Cottage, your hospitality was really excellent. We have managed to avoid the showers and it has not affected us and we have seen some of the beautiful countryside.
looking forward to seeing you again next year"

" We've been looking forward to visiting the Cotswolds. The cottage is beautifully decorated, comfortable and comes with practically anything you need for a lovely stay. Thanks Alison for being a wonderful host and the lovely welcome treats! Had a great time at the Fox Inn. Great food, hosts and atmosphere. Perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. Definitely recommend afternoon tea at Huffkins in Burford. The Falconry centre was awesome (good for young and old). Would love to return."

"I cannot think of a better place to be to see one year out and another in. The most perfect Cottage to stay at in our favourite place in the world - how lucky we are!

"We have had a most enjoyable week at Rose's Cottage, the weather has been kind to us, and we have revisited old favourites in the area, and found new ones.
The cottage is delightful, warm and comfortable. Thank you Alison, for equipping it so well, and for the extra little touches that make the place welcoming. We hope to see you again."

"Back in Rose's Cottage - spent two weeks here in 2008. Very impressed with refurbishment and with the milk, eggs, bread etc. provided - something you rarely get in cottages. Weather not good but still managed several days walking without getting wet. Dinner in the Fox excellent and filling - good draught cider! As regular visitors to the Cotswolds, we shall return."
Rosemary & Michael, September 2011
"A delightful cottage, all mod cons, our first visit to the Cotswolds but not our last. We have travelled from here in all directions and have enjoyed every place we have seen. Stratford was a joy as was Bourton on the Water. Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh and others too numerous to mention. Thank you for a great week"
Jim & Joan, August 2011
"Rose's Cottage is a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds. We have enjoyed several walks in and around the villages. We recommend the walk from Broadway to Broadway Tower for the lovely views. Chipping Campden was our favourite village. We used the Park & Ride into Oxford which was excellent. In Oxford we climbed the church tower at the University Church of St Mary and the views around the city were beautiful. We also attended a performance of the Comedy of Errors in the gardens of Wadham College which was great fun. They perform on several nights throughout the summer. Thank you."
Anne & Russell, August 2011
"We've had a lovely week in Rose's Cottage. The cottage is really beautiful & so peaceful. Sheer bliss! Thank you for the provisions and homemade goodies. The Fox Inn next door is very welcoming and friendly. Richard recommends a pint of BB while sat in the cottage garden! We have visited many places but really enjoyed "The Mill" at Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow. We will be recommending your lovely cottage to family and friends!. Many thanks"
Gail & Richard, August 2011
"Has the week really gone by so fast? Rose's is a lovely cottage in a super location that has one looking in estate agent's windows more & more. We'd love to be back sometime soon"
Tom & Trijny, August 2011
"What a delightful place is Rose's Cottage, in such wonderful surroundings. The Cotswolds is such a stand-out area on the world tourism stage and we are privileged to have been part of it for the past week. Our thanks to our friends in Adelaide, Rod & Lorraine Elliott for recommending Rose's Cottage after their visit in 2010 - excellent judges. We will be passing on our own recommendations and hope to be back here ourselves in coming years. You have set the bar very high for the remainder of our UK holiday! Sincere thanks."
Delia & John, July 2011
"Another great week at Rose's Cottage. The welcome just as warm as last year. We love Broadwell and the whole surrounding area. The cottage is perfect in every respect and ideal for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We loved the visit to Hidcote and 'The Slaughters', as usual, and full of charm. Travelled as far a field as Ross-on-Wye to the west and Oxford, Henley and Marlow to the east. A good base for touring. Will be back."
Ken & Margaret, August 2011
"Thank you very much for the warm welcome. The fresh groceries were much appreciated, especially the treacle tart. Your cottage is perfectly situated in a quiet and beautiful village. We have many lovely memories to see us through the winter months especially our evening in "The Fox" with the Morris Dancers. The road down from Stow gave us two memorable moments, the glorious poppy fields and wild deer crossing the road barely yards from us. Cheltenham was beautiful and welcoming, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Lower Slaughter are "must visits" Our meal at "The Fox" in Lower Oddington was excellent, wonderful food, atmosphere and service- a must do.
"Diolch yn fawr" Thank you"
Ann & John, June 2011
"What a stunning location for a first class cottage. Thank you for a very warm welcome to the Cotswolds and for the provisions and home-made goodies!. We visited some really lovely parts of the Cotswolds, the Slaughters were particularly beautiful and Oxford if you're a Morse/Lewis fan is a must!
We also received a brilliant welcome from Mike & Carol in the Fox next door and the food and drink is second to none! We will be back in the future, Many thanks"
Deb & Duncan, June 2011
"A lovely cottage with such pretty gardens, all in a tranquil village. There are many interesting places to see that are not far away. We would recommend Bourton House gardens and Kiftsgate Court garden. There are many pretty villages round here, though some have become rather "touristified". We would recommend Lower & Upper Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Hill and Chipping Campden. A little farther away, Broadway is attractive too."
Paul & Tessa, June 2011
"Thank you for such a wonderful cottage & garden and for the bread & cakes, a lovely homely touch.
The Fox was great for food - too much, we highly recommend it. The cottage is so handy for everywhere, we gave Snowshill Manor a visit - very worthwhile. Derek had a game of golf at Naunton, he got wet through but enjoyed it. Many thanks again."
Joan & Derek, May 2011
"Tomorrow we are leaving Rose's Cottage. We wish it was still last week, when we arrived. Rose's immediately felt like a home to us. Thank you for the warm welcome.
It's well decorated and surrounded by a beautiful garden, with a lot of birds, which you hear when you wake up.
We liked the Cotswolds very much. We've seen a lot of things this week and there are is still a lot more to see. So we will be back sometime.
We've visited a lot of the lovely villages, like Chipping Campden, Broadway, Snowshill, the Slaughters, Bourton-on-the-Water and Tetbury. We also went to Oxford and Bath and visited Sudeley Castle and Hidcote Gardens.
In Moreton-in-Marsh we had lunch (twice) at the Priory, they have lovely risottos and home-made pie, everyday different ones.
Thank you very much for the provisions and delicious flapjacks."
Frits & Josien, May 2011
"Thank you for your wonderful hospitality! I certainly picked the perfect place to propose to my new fiancee and to have a relaxing holiday. I strongly recommend Dover's Hill, near Chipping Camden as a perfect picnic spot! Thanks again for memorable stay, we will certainly be recommending Rose's Cottage to friends and family in the future!"
Nick & Laura, April 2011
"We had a wonderful stay - with great walks everyday. One of the best was right from the Cottage front door. We walked to Donnington and connected with the Longborough/Donnington walk (No 13 in the Cotswold Walks book in the bookshelf), with a stop at the Coach & Horses Inn in Longborough. Thank you for providing such a beautiful, comfortable home-from-home for us and a lovely garden! We look forward to coming back to see you."
Ian & Martha, April 2011

Evenlode-Adlestrop(tea at Post Office)-Chastleton.
Broughton Castle is well worth a visit, enjoy a picnic in the estate grounds.
