Driftwood Cottage & Rosehip are almost next door to each other in this small row of cottages. The properties are ideal for a quiet break with your partner or if you are bringing the whole family. You could also arrange a get-away for a club or association - or just have a holiday with your friends. The cottages have their own individual character. The cottages were built in the 1890s, situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Port Haverigg, and are only 200 yards away from a quiet beach. Miles and miles of beautiful coastline and country walks on the doorstep makes this the ideal getaway for you, your family and your friends. The cottages are within walking distance of Hodbarrow RSPB nature reserve, which provides a home for a variety of interesting wildlife, including Natterjack toads, several species of orchid, and the largest breeding colony of Little Terns in England. We offer a fantastic base for all wildlife, walking and cycling enthusiasts. For those with an interest in wildlife, St Bees Head, Bassenthwaite, Walney Island and other reserves are easily accessible from Haverigg. Our cottages all are very cosy and centrally heated, both have comfortable living/dining rooms that include large sofa-beds (hence these cottages sleep up to 6), each have fully equipped modern kitchens, two bedrooms (double master bedroom with views over the Duddon Estuary, and a twin bedroom). Each cottage has a small private back yard large enough to keep 2 or 3 bicycles. Location - Port Haverigg is one of the most up and coming destinations in Cumbria and has the unique benefit of beautiful beaches combined with the marvellous mountains of the West Coast of England.
- We are situated on the South West corner of the Lake District, close to the Duddon Estuary, and adjacent to the magnificent beaches and sand dunes of Port Haverigg. We offer you a perfect retreat with something for everyone. The cottages are ideally placed for exploring the Lakes, as we are only 30 minutes drive from CONISTON, BOWNESS, WINDERMERE and HAWKSHEAD and their scenic attractions, museums, gardens and historic houses.
 - South Cumbria offers a wealth of attractions for days out, including MUNCASTER CASTLE with it's magnificent gardens and WORLD OWL TRUST collection of breeding owls; picturesque Ravenglass and the RAVENGLASS and ESKDALE STEAM RAILWAY locally known as "La'al Ratty"; FURNESS ABBEY, as beautiful as the more well-known Tintern or Fountains; BARROW DOCK MUSEUM; the grandeur of WASDALE, and the quiet peace of ESKDALE and the DUDDON VALLEY, much loved by WILLIAM WORDSWORTH.
- Port Haverigg has two excellent pubs, one of which serves quality food. There is also a small well-stocked shop, post office, newsagent and fish & chip shop in the village. The town of Millom is a mile away and has a good range of shops, restaurants, cafes and take-aways.
 - Port Haverigg Holiday Village has it's own 200 acre freshwater lake, where Sailing, Windsurfing, Water Skiing lessons and Trout Fishing are available.
- Any time of the year you can come and enjoy the breathtaking views, take wonderful walks or just simply relax in the tranquil surroundings.
- By bus, train or car you can explore this unique corner of England, from tranquil lakes and tarns to it's magnificent mountains, go horse riding, walking, fell walking, climbing, sailing, waterskiing or just relax and enjoy the scenery, there really is something for everyone.
