The magnificent 14th century church, "the Cathedral of the Peaks", has exceptionally fine wood carvings. The village offers a wide range of shops providing specialist local produce, arts and crafts, as well as essential groceries and services.

Rose Cottage itself dates back to the 18th century. With a spacious, airy feel, it has been renovated to a high standard yet retains many original features such as the beams which were traditionally reclaimed from ships masts - you can still see the original peg holes. It has wide views over the village and countryside. The pretty back garden looks over the fields.
