 Rip Van Winkle is a well-appointed cosy detached cottage located in the charming village of Sutton Poyntz with its picturesque mill pond (photo on right). It is on a quiet no through lane backing onto the South Dorset Downs. - Local walks can be accessed by the adjacent gate including paths to the White Horse.
- Just 2 minutes walk brings you to the local pub and millpond.
- Local convenience shopping is 0.75 mile away.
- Weymouth, with its historic harbour and sandy beaches is only 4 miles away and the county town of Dorchester is about 6 miles away.
- The cottage is conveniently located for daytrips to other Dorset sights such as Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle, Chesil Beach and Abbotsbury Botanical Gardens.
Accommodation  The cottage accommodates 5 people in 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single bedroom(s). A cot and high chair are also available. Linen is provided and beds are made up ready for your arrival. The cottage is entered through a small lobby with boot rack and coat hooks. It has a beamed living room with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove for which a child safety gate is available. Logs may be obtained locally for the wood burning stove. The cottage has gas central heating. The living room seats 5 people and there is a TV, Radio/CD player. Off the living room is a kitchen/dining room. This has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and washing machine. It is well equipped and seats 5 at a compact pine table. An inner hallway leads to the bathroom and stairs. A high chair, drying racks and vacumn cleaner are found in the under stairs cupboard. Upstairs are 3 sunny bedrooms: The double room has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The single room is accessed through the twin room and it also has a wash basin and chest of drawers. The twin room has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a pretty decorative antique fireplace. All beds are equipped with duvets and 2 pillows per person. A cot can be put up but linen is not provided. The cottage has a sunny walled garden with patio set and washing line. There is a garage for one small car and a charcoal BBQ is available.
