Rebecca the Shepherd's Hut is idyllically situated on the banks of a mountain stream in the heart of the wild, unspoilt beauty of the Preseli Hills, just a 20 minute drive from the Pembrokeshire coast. With comfortable simplicity, eco-sustainability and no mod cons, Rebecca offers something truly different - a magical getaway in stunning rural surroundings.

Accommodation
  • The absence of electricity with its busy reminder of modern life allows for unusual peace and tranquillity and real connection with the abundant wildlife here, offering the opportunity for a wonderful holiday/adventure whilst leaving a satisfyingly light footprint. Ideal for birdwatching, walking, dreaming, romantic break, retreat or simply getting away from it all.
  • Built on fine 100 year-old iron wheels and insulated with sheeps' wool, Rebecca provides intimate, cosy and perfectly appointed accommodation, with double bed, small table, 2 fold-up chairs, and under-bed storage. The fully equipped kitchen has a dresser, a two ring gas burner, ship's toaster and locally handmade woodburner which can also be used to heat pans/kettle.
  • Eco-paints are used throughout; bedding is fairtrade organic cotton with organic merino wool duvet.
  • The Treebog/Washroom a few metres from the Hut houses a washbasin fed by rainwater, and caters for toilet and simple washing needs. Photo on right and photo down below.
Please note:
This is simple accommodation - no electricity, hot running water or fridge. Food can be kept cold in an icebox with icepacks from our freezer, or in the stream. Drinking /cooking water is from own spring via an outdoor tap, or bottled spring water if you prefer (provided). Bathing can be done in the Treebog using kettle-heated water or you might like to take a bath in the stream. Lighting is LED battery lanterns, torches, safe candles.

Included in the price:
Bedding, towels, eco washing products, recycled looroll, gas, one basket of logs. Also provided are spare blankets, hotties, picnic blanket, bottled spring water, books, playing cards, reading lights, goesunder.

We live down a track off a country lane - rural, peaceful and private: Rebecca has her own private patio area and a firepit looking out over stream and mountain.

Parking: close. We are happy to meet you off a train and help with shopping if you wish to come car-free.

If you have any queries please don't hesitate to ask.
