At Ravenstone children can play on our homemade pirate ship.
Out and about, explore sandy beaches and rock pools.
Visit the UK's first Dark Sky Park in the Galloway Forest Park at night and enjoy walks there by day. There's a local observatory to check out the stars too.
Cycle the challenging 7 Stanes Circuit at Kirroughtree Forest Park or potter peacefully along the quiet roads.
In spring see the ospreys nesting courtesy of the live camera link at Wigtown's County Hall.
Lose yourself in the bookshops of Wigtown, Scotland's Book Town - festivals in early May and late September annually too.
Discover the many delightful gardens and nurseries in the area and take home a living memento of your visit.

Accommodation
We have two cottages -Ravenstone Mains Cottage and Ravenstone Stables to rent. Each cottage sleeps 4 and can be rented jointly to sleep 8. A great way for two families to holiday together. Children will love our homemade pirate ship in the woods and the huge shared garden for all to explore and enjoy. There's a large table and chairs to enjoy the outdoors and a BBQ. Meet our Indian Runner duck Marion, our free range hens and Merlin, our chocolate Burmese cat - but don't worry they're all outdoor only pets!

Newly refurbished kitchen with mod cons including microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer; also wood burning stove.
Living room with wood stove, plenty of board games and tv/vcr.
Upstairs, one twin and one double room - cot and highchair available.
Bathroom with shower over bath.
Price includes bedding, towels and electricity. Fuel for wood stoves extra.

Well-stocked modern kitchen with microwave, gas hob, electric cooker, fridge/freezer.
Living room with wood stove, tv/dvd, games, large picture window overlooking the garden.
Upstairs, one twin room, one double room. Cot available.
Upstairs, one bathroom with shower over bath.
Price includes bedding, towels and electricity. Extra charge for oil for combi-boiler and wood for stove.
