Our four stone cottages are set well apart from each other in the private grounds of Rannoch Lodge which commands the head of Loch Rannoch. This historic Perthshire house, dating from the 18th century and formerly the hunting lodge of the Menzies family, is undergoing restoration after a disastrous fire in the 1980s.
Photo: Coach House The view from the Lodge down the loch towards Schiehallion is generally held by locals to be one of the finest in Perthshire. The lawns in front of the house lead to a private jetty and half a mile of private beach framed by magnificent conifers, especially pine. The Lodge and its cottages all lie within 30 acres of private wood and parkland. The Cottages all have their own individual character. They are homely and comfortable, each with an open fire or a woodburning stove. An initial quantity of logs are provided free of charge. There is a dishwasher in each cottage.
Rannoch Lodge is an ideal centre for outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling, birdwatching and fishing. We have 2 boats for hire. Rannoch Station is 5 miles away and from there it is possible to go on one of the 'Great Train Journeys of the World'; the West Highland Line to Mallaig.
