 Port Righ Cottage lies in the grounds of Dunvalanree Hotel in an unrivalled position just yards from the shore at Port Righ, a small hamlet on its own on the edge of Carradale. The cottage, built in 1922 in a traditional style, has been extensively renovated and is furnished and decorated to a very high standard and with the wood burning stove in the lounge makes a cosy retreat to return to after a day exploring.
On the Carradale side of Kintyre, the coastline is dramatic and rugged and boasts a number of walks. Carradale has a local store and a choice of restaurants (one in Dunvalanree) and bars for food as well as bustling little harbour, a 9-hole golf course and two safe sandy beaches. To the south there is Campbeltown with many buildings of architectural interest, and, if golf is of interest, Machrihanish is worth a visit for its championship course alone.
There is no need to cook, just enjoy the Taste of Scotland resaurant at Dunvalanree Hotel.
