As its name implies, Stable Cottage is the result of conversion of the stables for the former coaching Inn where we now live, some 40 yards away. The Inn dates from around 1700 and has many historical connections - from the Jacobite uprisings to Queen Victoria. The main road north was re-routed in the 1860s and thus today Moulinearn is a peaceful "backwater" with the old road now the driveway to the cottage.
In secluded surroundings looking out on the River Tummel, about a mile and a half south of Pitlochry, Stable Cottage is attractive and well-equipped. Upstairs
2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 single).
Bathroom.
Downstairs
Open plan with living room (open fire), dining room and kitchen (electric hob, oven, microwave and fridge).
Facilities
All bed linen and towels are included, as are electricity and gas central heating costs.
Peat is also supplied so you can enjoy the "peat reek" of an open fire.
There is a TV with DVD player which also obtains a variety of radio stations. Outside there is a small patio where you can relax or you can take a stroll along the beautiful River Tummel which is famous for its salmon fishing. Fishing permits are available in nearby Pitlochry.
