The beautiful surrounding countryside is steeped in history and local tradition.
There are numerous places of interest to visit, including Braemer, Royal Deeside and Balmoral Castle (the Queens private residence).
Fishing and golfing are extremely popular, skiing in winter at The Lecht, pony trekking, walking and cycling are some other available sports.
The Whisky Trail is also nearby.
