Penrhos Cottage is situated in the quiet hamlet of Cefn Gorwydd in the foothills of the Eppynt and enjoys lovely views across the Irfon valley towards the Cambrian mountains. The area is one of outstanding, unspoiled natural beauty, teeming with wildlife, birds and wild flowers. There are pine forests, native woodlands, open moorland and streams. It is ideal for walking, mountain biking and horse riding and there are castles, gardens, and many other places of interest within easy reach.
  • The cottage is a good base from which to visit the larger towns such as Cardiff, Swansea and Carmarthen or the smaller ones like Builth Wells, Brecon, Aberystwyth and Hay on Wye.
  • The coast is only some 40 miles away.
  • We offer special packages in conjunction with Ffos Farm Riding & Trekking Centre, in nearby Llanwrtyd Wells. More details on their website.
  • Llanwrtyd Wells, two miles away, is the smallest town in Britain but has a warm welcome for visitors and there is a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.
Accommodation
  • The cottage, which is the end of a terrace of old stone cottages, has been carefully restored and offers, cosy, attractive, well equipped accommodation.
  • With one bedroom it is ideal for two, but it can sleep up to four as there is a double sofa bed in the living room.
  • All bed linen and towels are supplied.
  • Heating is by wood burning stove - firewood supplied at no extra cost.
  • Maps and literature about the area are all provided for your use as well as a selection of books, games and Freesat TV.
