 Penpont is one of the finest houses situated on the banks of the River Usk and within the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It offers a unique experience for you, your family and friends to enjoy a self-catering holiday in The West Courtyard Wing.
This privately owned Grade I listed house has been home to the same family since it was first built in 1666. The house is the centre piece of a remarkable group of buildings including a church, Dower house, stables, workshops, a dovecote on stilts and a 19th century conservatory.
Accommodation  The Courtyard Wing can sleep 14-17 people within 6 bedrooms. There are 4 bathrooms and WCs, a comfy sitting room with sofas, a spacious kitchen with a table large enough for everyone to sit around. There's a table tennis room off the courtyard in the old 'wash house', a boiler room for drying coats/boots and plenty of space to store bikes and buggies, and an all weather tennis court. Penpont has the fishing rights for 2 miles - fly only and day tickets are £15. Penpont has recently installed a biomass boiler which provides all the hot water and central heating to all the buildings. The woodchips are sourced from the estate woodlands. Magnificent in its 40 acres of gardens and grounds, Gavin and Vina positively encourage people to explore and enjoy the peace, tranquillity and space that surrounds Penpont. There are sweeping lawns, 2 restored Victorian walled kitchen gardens (registered organic with the Soil Association) so order a box of fresh seasonal produce for your stay!, a beech planted 'Greenman Maze', riverside and woodland walks.
