This little cottage for just two people is blessed with a superb site in a tranquil hamlet well off the beaten track yet only 6 miles from Ambleside and 4 from Ullswater. Hartsop is an excellent place for walkers as it is easy to take paths into widely diverse landscapes each day of the week without having to use a car.
Accommodation
South-facing and with splendid mountain views, the cottage is completely private with its own gated parking. It was once the barn of our 400 year old listed farmhouse.  - Downstairs the kitchen/dining room is fitted with electric cooker, microwave and, we hope, all you need for cooking.
- The bathroom, also downstairs, has a full size bath with shower over it.
- Upstairs the beamed room has twin beds and a sitting area looking south over the village towards Dove Crag.
- Nightstore heaters provide background warmth.
Many extra services are provided by the on-site owner who also likes guests to enjoy the beautiful one-acre garden behind the cottage where there are several seats and a hammock. The garden has been featured in cards, calendars, books, magazines and television programmes. It is not surprising that many visitors return to such a lovely spot year after year.
