A heartfelt welcome warmly awaits your arrival to our homely holiday chalet in Sleat on the Isle of Skye. The Chalet is ideally situated on the sea front in a quiet, private, and tranquil location in Camuscross, by the seaside shore of the picturesque village of Isle Ornsay, on the Sleat peninsula, a secluded little crofting village of whitewashed cottages that once was Skye's main fishing port, and now is one of its most attractive villages. The Sleat peninsula is Skye's most southern tip, an uncharacteristically fertile area that has earned it the sobriquet "The Garden of Skye".

  • All bedrooms have garden views. The bedrooms are furnished and have been newly painted and totally refurbished and we pride ourselves in preparing our beds in fresh crisp white bed linen.
  • The chalet is log cabin style, comprised of a utility / entrance porch, hall, open plan kitchen / dining and sitting room area with stunning sea views. It also offers hot and cold water, oil central heating and double glazed windows and doors, electrical hob and oven, fridge and freezer.

It is fully equipped with electric oven / hob, dishwasher, microwave, slow cooker, chip pan, baking trays, whisk, and baking utensils, pots, pans, a full range of kitchen cutlery and crockery, tea towels, plate warmer, place mats, trays, glasses, and barbecue utensils, vegetable rack, iron and ironing board.
  • The garden, including garden furniture is a peaceful and secluded area with two small streams of water, trickling down on either side into the small pond in the garden. At times it's so peaceful that all you hear is the trickle of the water and the birds singing.
  • From the garden the shore is easily accessible for those of you who may want to push a small boat or kayak out to water to soak up the sea breeze and enjoy the relaxation of the peaceful ripples of the water or sail by one of the many yachts in the nearby Isle Ornsay bay, which is white with yachts in the summer months.
  • A small barbecue is available in the garden, also for your use.

  • The Chalet is surrounded by the natural beauty of ancient woodland, offering the most amazing and incredible sea views, all from your breakfast table, where often you will experience a magical tapestry of exciting colours no matter what season, picture post-card images and majestic scenery of mountains and breathtaking landscape.
  • Overlooking the expansive panoramic sea views with the mountains of the mainland on the horizon, Ben Sgreill, Loch Hourn, and Knoydart, looking onto the very well known "Sandaig Island", the home of Gavin Maxwell, the author of "The ring of Bright Water".
  • Escape to the lighthouse, on the tidal island of Isle Ornsay, which you can see from directly infront of the Chalet, where many people enjoy scrambling over the encrusted sea-weeded rocks to rest on the shore by the lighthouse and enjoy a picnic, listening to the sea birds. It is not unusual to spot seals sunbathing on the rocks and porpoises popping up to say "hello" peacefully listening to the sound of the waves, gently swaying against the rocks, mesmerised by the breathtaking, picturesque and dramatic views of unspoilt scenery unfolding before your eyes by the minute.
  • We invite you to share these very special moments of peaceful tranquillity and seclusion that one finds hard to describe at times, with spectacular and uninterrupted sea views, gorgeous sunrises and glistening, magical moonlit nights reflecting in the smooth waters in the bay. This truly is a gateway to a unique and inspiring landscape.
People return year after year, drawn by the astounding beauty of this unique historic, romantic and relaxing setting. Come and journey on an unforgettable holiday, where memories linger for ever!
