This comfortable 400 year old beamed cottage is located in the quiet village of Bolton, near Appleby in the tranquil Eden Valley. With over half a million acres of some of the most breathtaking landscapes in England, the Eden Valley is unknown by all but a discerning few. Picture postcard villages, the spectacular North Pennines, with rolling fields and lush river valleys full of wonderful bird-life. This is excellent walking and climbing country - from a gentle stroll, to the challenge of the Pennine Way's highest point at Cross Fell or the high Lakeland Fells.
Accommodation The beamed lounge / dining room has a colour TV and is comfortably furnished. There is a real fire with coal and logs provided. The kitchen is well equipped (with an electric cooker, fridge & microwave) and leads out onto a patio area with garden furniture. An open staircase leads up to a small landing (mind your head on the old 'crook' beam!) where there are two bedrooms, both with double beds (one 4'6, the other 4'). Duvets and all bed linen are provided, but you need to bring your own towels. The bathroom has a bath, shower and toilet. Cost of background heating and fuel for the fire is included in the rental price. No smoking. Outside There are attractive gardens to the front and rear of the property. Plenty of parking space in front of the house. This cottage location is ideal for either walking or touring the valley itself, or you can take a short drive to Ullswater. The Yorkshire Dales, Pennines, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish borders are all within driving distance.
