Location  

• Winterbourne Abbas is a delightful village with an ancient church, St Marys, located opposite the cottage. The historic pub 'The Coach & Horses', popular for its carvery, is just a few minutes walk from the cottage. There is also a petrol station/shop close by.
• The village is just 4 miles from Dorchester, the county town of Dorset, steeped in history and with character shops, tea-rooms and restaurants.
• The whole area is excellent for walking. The famous 'Hardys Monument' is just 2 miles from Winterbourne Abbas, and is the crossroads for the South West Coast Path and the Jubilee Trail.
• 10 miles to the south of the village lies Weymouth, a classic beach resort at the heart of the newly designated 'World Heritage Coast'. To the east of Weymouth are the Purbeck Hills with breathtaking coastal paths, and to the west Chesil Beach and Abbotsbury with its swannery and sub tropical gardens.
