 The Old Railway Cottage offers very comfortable accommodation in the peaceful hamlet of Penstone. It is available all year round and perfect for a summer holiday or out-of-season break. It offers a haven in which to unwind from the pressures of everyday life!
Accommodation Downstairs the lounge/dining room provides a comfortable setting for relaxation and eating. There is a TV and DVD player as well as a small library of books. Heating is provided by a multi-fuel stove which also heats the radiators in the rest of the house. Additional electric heaters are also provided. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to make the practical side of your holiday as easy as possible. Upstairs there are 3 comfortable bedrooms and a toilet/shower room. The cottage is able to sleep four people or five if two share the bunk bed in one of the rooms. Outside there is a small courtyard with seating. A carport is attached to the side of the cottage. Area - Penstone is situated in the Mid Devon parish of Colebrooke. It is tucked away from busy roads and noise and surrounded by glorious Devon countryside. The award winning 'New Inn' pub is located half a mile away in the next hamlet.
- The historic town of Crediton, birthplace of St Boniface, is only four miles away. Here there is a full range of shops and eating places plus a farmer's market.
- Mid Devon is full of charm and interest, with its numerous rural communities and patchwork of fields. It borders North and South Devon and the wilds of Exmoor and Dartmoor to the East and West. All are within easyreach by car as are the numerous tourist attractions throughout thecounty.
- In spite of the tranquil location it is surprisingly accessible from the M5 and A30.
