In a recent review of “Alistair Sawday’s Special Escapes in Britain” by the Guardian newspaper, Oldhamstocks Cottage was listed as one of their top ten self-catering cottages in Scotland.

Good rates for long weekends.
Although not officially Tourist Board rated, Oldhamstocks Cottage has been graded as 4* equivalent. We know this because the cottage is also let via a rental agency who only consider properties with a minimum 4* quality.

We like properties that it is possible to walk out from, although for shorter distances as we get older. From this cottage it is possible to walk along the lane in both directions for short walks and also a circular walk which was recommended by the owner. We were so glad we made the effort, as the views along this walk were spectacular. All the lanes are very quiet. Sept 2011.

We had a great time in this beautiful country. We enjoyed every second. Thanks for your kindness as you were very helpful to us in planning what we should do and see each day.
