Ideal location for touring south Lakeland and close to the coast (1mile) Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, adjacent to the lovely Duddon Valley. Semi detached bungalow, self catering, sleeps 4.

The property is situated in open countryside, just outside the town of Millom (1/4 mile) with uninterrupted views and nice local walks. Local amenities are within walking distance of the property.
Location: Coniston Water is 25 mins away, and from there it's just a short drive through the pretty village of Hawkshead to Far Sawrey, where you can take the vehicular ferry across lake Windermere to Bowness and Ambleside. To the south of us is the Wild Animal Park at Dalton (open all year) and is a good day out for all the family. The ruins of the famous Furness Abbey with its Cistercian monk association is well worth a visit, as is the Dockyard Museum, covering the well-documented history of shipbuilding at Barrow in Furness. Ulverston, (25 mins away) an attractive market town with its famous Cumbrian Crystal glassworks, is well worth a visit. It also boasts the shortest, deepest, widest canal in the UK, and at its seaward end has stunning views towards the fells and a nice pub to boot! Grange-Over-Sands, an attractive Victorian resort, along with Holker Hall with its Lakeland Motor museum are approx 40 minutes away. And for those with a sweet tooth, the village of Cartmel with its famous Sticky Toffee Pudding shop is a must! Also, while in the area, you may like to visit the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway, which combines a ride on the railway and a Steamer boat trip on Lake Windermere. To the north of us is Muncaster Castle (20 mins) with its well documented history of hauntings, beautiful grounds and world famous Owl Centre. One mile from there is the Ravenglass and Eskdale miniature railway (L'aal Ratty) which gives a lovely ride up into Esdale. From Ravenglass it's just a short drive through the lanes into Wasdale to the beautiful and dramatic lake at Wastwater. Further north is Whitehaven a coastal town of Georgian origin, with its recently rejuvinated working harbour and The History of Rum museum! Near to us is Broughton-In-Furness (7miles) a pretty lakeland village which has some traditional shops and a few nice pubs. Haverigg with its small harbour and large expanse of beach and sand dunes, is within walking distance of our house (1mile) Close by is the popular RSPB nature reserve (the Lagoon) which is a haven for bird-watchers and nature lovers alike. Silecroft beach, 4 miles to the north of us, is well worth the drive just to see the lovely sunsets. Black Coombe (2000ft) and Corney fell are both nearby and on a clear day give stunning views over the fells to the north, and the Irish sea to the south.
