Overlooking the deepwater channel that brings to Orkney a wide variety of craft from ocean going sail training vessels like the Statsrad Lemkuhl to cruise liners such as Grand Princess, this traditional stone built cottage is renovated to a very high standard and provides a secluded base from which to explore the jewels of Orkney. Located, only a ten minute drive from the local ferry, a courtesy pick up is available for those travelling without a car.
Accommodation: 1 Bedroom with double bed and bunk beds. Shower Room with toilet and wash hand basin. Kitchen with linked Dining area. All modern kitchen appliances: Gas cooker, microwave, fridge, combined Washing Machine & Tumble dryer. Dual aspect lounge with TV/VCR & Hi-fi (Sofa bed for 2). The price includes all electricity and linen - weekly linen change. Further details: - One shop and two restaurants/takeways allow you to cater for all your food needs.
- Arrangements can be made for basic provisions to await your arrival. Island shop (3.5 miles) stocks all the essentials - Open till 6.30pm weekdays, till 5.00pm Saturdays and 2.00pm - 4.00pm Sundays.
 Location: - Our quiet and peaceful location is ideal for coastal walks and seal/bird watching. On the island opportunities exist to visit places of archaeological interest such as Burroughston Broch, or from April to October delve into the island's past by dropping in on the Smithy Heritage centre, where as well as seeing fascinating exhibitions you can purchase locally produced crafts and gifts.
- The island also offers the chance to indulge in a day trying out a new craft such as painting, pottery, pyrography or even stained glass making (if interested please ask for more details).
- Further afield on Mainland Orkney, just a 25 minute ferry ride away Kirkwall offers all the facilities of a small town together with an airport that is only 3 hours flying time from London.
