Occupying the entire first floor of a listed period former mansion house, with private front door entry, this spacious apartment enjoys panoramic views over Scotland's largest loch in Scotland's first National Park. Close by, the popular West Highland Walkway beckons, as it weaves its way towards Fort William, a mere 90-odd-mile stroll. Just 7 miles further along the delightful loch-side, Ben Lomond awaits, towering over the shores of Loch Lomond... but the views are superb and the upward path is obvious as you trek on up through the forest showing the popularity of this mountain.
Loch Lomond is the single biggest expanse of inland water in the British Isles, and brings together two very different Scotlands. The sheltered harbour at Balmaha is ideal for sailing and water-sports, with walking and hiking enthusiasts also well catered for. A little further a-field there is Balloch Castle Country Park where you can take a gentle stroll or Queen Elizabeth Forest Park which will lead you past charming loch-side villages and sandy bays. If a more strenuous walk is more your style, you need to go north to the mountains. Magnificent scenery, opportunities for water sports, scenic villages and ancient castles, are all within easy reach.
