Middle Cottage is situated within a peaceful rural hamlet in the beautiful Royal Forest of Dean. This snug, centrally heated 2 bedroomed cottage can accommodate 4 in one intimate bedroom with 4ft double bed, and a larger twin bedroom. A sittingroom with TV and woodburning stove overlooks the garden and there is a seperate kitchen/dining room. The wooden conservatory looks across a pretty garden towards the woods outside the gate. Dishwasher, washerdryer, combi-microwave, hob and oven and many other amenities are provided for a relaxing holiday. Welcome tray on arrival. Parking outside. Walks and cycle trails from the gate. Many birds can be seen in the garden, buzzards often circling overhead and the Nagshead Nature Reserve (Pied Flycatchers), bird watching is only a 20 minute walk away, Symonds Yat peregrine site is nearby. A 40 minute drive will take you to the Slimbridge Wildlife and Wetlands Trust. Location - The Royal Forest of Dean and surrounding area offer many attractions, Lydney and the Forest of Dean Railway, Lydney Park and Gardens with model village Roman remains and Taurus Crafts, Clearwell Caves for visits or caving and Puzzle Wood pre-Roman iron mines nearby. Go down a coalmine at Hopewell Colliery.
- Travel to Gloucester with its Docks shopping area, Waterways Museum, Antique Centre and interactive museum of army life, Soldiers Of Gloucestershire. On the way visit Hart's Barn Craft Centre.
- Monmouth, Offa's Dyke and the River Wye, Ross-on-Wye and Hereford, Tintern and Chepstow with its racecourse are all within about an hours drive. A little further afield you will find Cheltenham, Bristol and Cardiff with theatres and other attractions, while castles can be found at Chepstow, Sudeley, Berkley and Eastnor not to mention the many Welsh border castles nearby - something for everyone.
It may be, however, that you will not want to leave the peace and quiet of this lovely location but prefer to put your feet up and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the house and garden.
