Merok Cottage is a tranquil stone cottage situated in a quiet lane in Newsham, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, between the market towns of Richmond (7 miles) in North Yorkshire and Barnard Castle (6 miles) in County Durham.

The accommodation sleeps up to 4 adults and one infant.

There is a double room with TV, and a second bedroom with 2 full sized bunk beds, with fresh linen and towels provided, plus a travel cot, stairgate and high chair.
Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with woodburning stove and a spacious kitchen/diner warmed by a new oil Rayburn and with pretty views over the shingle garden.
Other amenities include TV in lounge and main bedroom, DVD player, CD/Radio, electric hob, fridge/freezer, electric oven with microwave and grill, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and central heating.

The cottage provides an excellent base for walking, cycling or touring in Teesdale and Swaledale with local attractions including six pubs/restaurants within 3 miles, the beautiful Teesdale Way next to the River Tees, and High Force waterfall, the Bowes Museum, plus Castles at Barnard Castle, Richmond and Raby. Further afield, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and cities of York, Durham and Newcastle are within easy range for day trips.
