Burnsall is situated between Bolton Abbey and Grassington in the heart of Wharfedale, one of the southernmost Yorkshire Dales. This small community is widely regarded as one of the Dales' most charming villages and in an area renowned for its outstanding natural beauty, that's saying something! - Situated in the centre of the village Manor Cottage is a traditional stone built cottage full of Dales charm.
- It has been owned by members of the Lodge family for nearly 60 years and our many regular visitors tell us how much they enjoy staying in owner-maintained and cherished accommodation, where someone is always on site during their stay to help out if there are any problems, or to advise on interesting days out etc, if so required.
 - The cottage dates back to the early c17 and has some interesting features specific to its age, the sitting room being equipped with a 'Scots Window' to give early warning of any invading Northern Hordes, and a spacious hidden cavity in the chimney is for the secret storage of weapons.
- There is also a splendid original fireplace where you can toast your feet over a glowing log fire after a good day's hiking or sightseeing.
Accommodation Manor Cottage can accommodate up to 3 people in two bedrooms, one single and one double with authentic and very romantic Four Poster bed. The cottage has a sunny kitchen/dining room and the friendly little shop in the village can provide you with a good range of groceries, newspapers and the most delicious homemade cakes. If you prefer to dine out on holiday then there is plenty of choice in Burnsall and the surrounding area. Outside - Visitors are free to enjoy our large shared garden which runs from the back of the cottage down to the river.
- At the bottom of the garden you can join the Dalesway footpath, and stroll to Grassington (3 miles), Bolton Abbey (6 miles), or even further if you're feeling really energetic!
