Maltings Cottage is set in the heart of the Georgian Market Town of Barnard Castle. This Grade II listed cottage is only a short walk away from both the River Tees and Bowes Museum. The cottage has all the modern facilities you would expect whilst retaining many original features such as beamed ceilings, sash windows and exposed stonework.

The cottage is close to many local pubs and restaurants, specialist shops and galleries and fantastic places of interest, such as The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, Raby Castle and High Force.
The local area has many walks and cycle routes suiting all levels of expertise.
A little further away, Hamsterley Forest offers good mountain bike trails, nature trails and walks in a beautiful woodland setting.
Barnard Castle is a great location to be based for those day trips to the Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, Beamish Museum, Darlington, Durham, Harrogate and York.
