The Cottage, alongside Maddington House, is situated on the A360 in the centre of the pretty village of Shrewton - about 3 miles from Stonehenge, and 10 miles from Salisbury. The cottage is Grade II Listed - part built in the 17th Century.
The Cottage comprises: A large double room, with king size bed and ample wardrobe and cupboard space. A small twin room. A bathroom - a bath with shower attachment, shaver point. A beamed kitchen with dining area, well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, and ironing facilities. A sitting room with exposed brickwork/beams has a TV, video, radio / CD / cassette player. Full central heating. Outside: Walled garden - mainly lawn and flower beds, and garden furniture. Car parking, and separate entrance. Facilities: All services - electricity, heating oil, towels, bed linen etc - all included in the price. No pets. Children 7+ welcome. Minimum stay - 3 nights. The village has: 3 pubs (all of which provide good food), a large village store, a post office, a small garage, butcher and baker, laundry, local taxi firm, Doctor's surgery - all within walking distance. The nearest train station is Salisbury, and there is a bus stop about 100 metres away.
Local attractions: The Cottage is an ideal base for sightseeing. Stonehenge is less than 5 minutes away, while the historic cathedral city of Salisbury is within 15 minutes drive. Wilton, Longleat, Broadlands, Winchester, Devizes, Avebury and the New Forest are close by, as are the numerous National Trust properties, country gardens and other attractions. Bath, Oxford, Portsmouth and Windsor are all within about an hours drive.
