Lyndale is an 18th century stone cottage of considerable character with exposed beams and wood and flagstone floors, situated in the pretty village of Roadwater at the foot of the Brendon Hills in Exmoor National Park.
Accommodation: The cottage comprises two double bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a separate dining room and a downstairs shower-room and toilet. The bedrooms are furnished for comfort as well as style, one with twin beds and the other a double. The living-room has a cosy wood-burner, two sofas, one of which converts to a double bed, a television, a CD and DVD player and an open plan staircase. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher, cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware. The dining room has a farm-house style table, with seating for six, a welsh dresser and an open fire. Prices are inclusive of duvets, bedlinen, electricity and an initial basket of logs (basket of logs - winter months only). Outside: - The cottage has its own private parking area for two cars and a hill-side garden 50 yards from the door.
- The garden has a barbecue area with table and chairs and is a lovely spot for a picnic or just to relax in to the rippling sound of nearby streams.
- There is a shop and an inn serving good food within easy walking distance.
The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, characterised by deep wooded valleys, steep rolling hills and a spectacular coastline. The cottage has numerous walks from the door and is at the midpoint of the newly designated Coleridge Way. It is also ideally located for other country pursuits, such as horseriding, shooting and fishing. Alternatively, if you want to enjoy beaches, the coast is just three miles away. The area also has plenty of historical interest too, including the ancient port of Watchet and the mediaeval village of Dunster.
