Enjoy all the comforts of home in the garden flat of this magnificent B Listed pink sandstone mansion house built in 1871 situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. Whether you are interested in sport, history, beautiful scenery, shopping or are just interested in enjoying the peace and quiet of the house and the well maintained private garden with its two very different patio areas you are ideally placed at Lower Newstead.
The house is situated in the north-west corner of the town with beautiful walks and magnificent views right on the doorstep. Just past the next house is a large field with many horses. Children love feeding them with carrots and apples. You are however also less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of Crieff with all its interesting little shops and well stocked supermarkets. Within a few hundred yards there are two beautiful park areas with excellent facilities for children.
Accommodation The flat offers a high level of comfort. There are 2 bedrooms. One is very large (25 square metres) with a double bed, TV and DVD player and a couch which could sleep a child. The small bedroom has two single beds. There is also a CD player. Both bedrooms have access to a private sheltered seating area full of plants where you can have your meals or just sit and read or enjoy the tranquillity. Inside you will find a huge choice of books and videos and DVDs as well as videos for children, games and all sorts of toys, colouring materials etc. The kitchen is well equipped with two ovens, a hob, fridge/freezer, mixer, coffee machine, tumble drier, microwave and TV. Many guests spend hours sitting here looking out over the garden or at the birds or squirrels. There is a washer-drier along with an iron and ironing board. The bathroom has an extra deep and wide bath with an over bath shower. All bedding, towels, dish towels, cleaning materials as well as a welcome food pack is provided. The comfortable living room has eight original pieces of art. Electric wall heaters. There is off-road parking for one car. For the sake of non-smokers I would request that any smoking is done OUTSIDE. Thank you! A laptop is available and there is wifi so that you can keep up with family and friends or just for entertainment. Location - Glasgow Edinburgh and Dundee with all their attractions can all be reached within an hour, Perth and Stirling in half an hour. The closest town is Perth, known as the Floral City. It is excellent for shopping and eating out. Its new concert hall at the Horsecross has many attractions and events for visitors and there are the Perth Art Gallery and the Fergusson Gallery both of which are free. Perth also has two interesting museums and a wide variety of gardens to visit.
- Two nearby villages compete annually for floral awards.
- Crieff itself is a very peaceful, tranquil setting for those wanting to recharge their batteries in the wonderful clean air, appreciate the abundant wildlife or take part in the many local recreational pursuits.
