'Down the Deep Lanes' is where you will find Long Meadow, part of the medieval farm of Woodrow near Ashreigney. Although no longer a working farm it has changed little over the centuries. Still retaining some 15 acres of pastureland and woods, it's hard not to sense the continuing history of this area.
Unspoilt, this part of Devon attracts a wide range of wild life. Buzzards, badgers, deer, to name but a few, and on clear nights, skies that are quite breathtaking.
Accommodation The cottage is converted from the old calving barns and is arranged on one level, overlooking a quiet lane onto the Culm pasture. There are two bedrooms (one double, one twin, linen and hand towels provided), with bathroom and loo. The well equipped combined kitchen (microwave, gas cooker) and living room (colour TV), has French doors. These open onto an enclosed sunny patio and garden overlooking the orchard. Central heating is included. With the North Devon Coast, Exmoor and Dartmoor no more than 40 minutes drive, Long Meadow is ideally situated. The Eden Project at St Austell can be easily visited in a day and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, just 15 minutes away.
