This old stone farmhouse lies in a quiet valley at the northern end of the Cheviot Hills, well within the Northumbria National Park. It stands on its own surrounded by the hills.
The house was abandoned in the 1950's but rescued and renovated from top to bottom by its present owners. It is now a comfortable house with an Aga and excellent heating, making it a good choice for a spring or autumn break as well as a traditional summer holiday.
The house has: Four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is laid out with two bedrooms and a bathroom at either end of the building, which means it can be ideally rented by two families, or alternatively one side only can be taken, with a substantial reduction in price (not in high season). At all times you have sole occupancy of the site. Short breaks are also available. There is a farmhouse kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, breadmaker, freezer and drying rack. A double sitting room with two open fires and polished wood floors. Two bathrooms with power showers and baths. There are two double beds, one set of bunks and two single beds. CD player. No TV. It is 15 miles away from the Northumbrian coast and Lindisfarne, the border castles are close by and Edinburgh and Hadrian's Wall are within easy reach.
