Loch Cottage is a small cosy cottage situated right in the heart of the secluded conservation village of KILCONQUHAR in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. It boasts an idyllic location with access to Kilconquhar Loch at the bottom of the garden. The Loch is a favourite haunt of wildlife and forms a spectacular setting for the early 19th century Gothic-style church that sits high above the loch and village.
The cottage comprises: Entrance Hall. 1 Double / Twin room. Lounge/dining area with door to garden. Well equipped kitchen with all the usual appliances including washing machine / tumble drier and microwave oven. Bathroom with bath and shower attachment. General Details: Loch Cottage is situated in the grounds of the main house; it is all on one level and ideal for anyone with limited mobility. It sleeps 2 - 3; with a sofa bed in the lounge. It is bright and comfortable with an attractive south facing lounge. It is centrally heated and the lounge has a wood burning stove. A TV, DVD/VCR Combi, and CD player are provided. Tariff includes bedding, linen, towels, electricity and heating. There is no telephone in the cottage but a public telephone is situated on the main street directly outside the cottage. There is off street parking and access to Kilconquhar Loch at the bottom of the garden. The nearest shops are 1 mile from the village in Colinsburgh and Elie. Kilconquhar village is small and quiet and has no shops but we do have a pub, the 18th Century 'Kinneuchar Inn' which incorporates the old name for the village and closely reflects the local pronunciation. It sits one mile north from the pretty seaside resorts of Elie and Earlsferry and their beautiful sandy beaches, 2 golf courses, tennis, bowling, and watersports centre.
The Fife Coastal Path with stunning seascapes over the Firth of Forth hugs the coastline, as do the quaint fishing villages of St.Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther, and Crail. There are numerous golf courses in the area and the historic University town of St.Andrews (The Home of Golf) is 11 miles away. It is an ideal base for walking, bird watching, and golf.
Thank you for your interest and I hope to welcome you very soon.
