The Little Barn was built in approximately 1790 as an agricultural building. It was converted in 1975 and has undergone further updating recently.
The accommodation is as follows: Ground Floor Comfortably furnished sitting room, settees, arm chairs, dining table and chairs, doors to patio, TV and video recorder. Kitchen with full sized electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave, double sink and full range of crockery, cutlery, serving dishes and pots and pans. Newly refurbished bathroom with bath, wash basin and WC. Underfloor heating. Washing machine and tumble dryer. First Floor 2 single beds (3rd available) - made up on arrival. A cot is available but we feel the property is not suitable for toddlers. Hairdryer. Please bear in mind that the bedroom is in the eaves, so the headroom is restricted in parts. General information: Prices include storage heating, bedlinen (duvets), towels and tea towels. Electricity by £1 meter, first £5 included. Parking. Private patio with patio furniture. Non smokers. Weekends and short breaks in the Low Season are often available. Please ask! Please bring your own beach towels. Free entry to Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden. Our small flock of Soay sheep enjoy bread crusts and vegetable peelings. Upton is a small rural village set in Broadland, equidistant from the historic city of Norwich, and the coast. The nearby marshes are a haven for wildlife - indeed several rare species have been seen in the garden. We have regular visits from deer and foxes, and believe that the local otter takes a short cut to our neighbour's pond.
Little Barn is situated in its own private garden, set well back from a very quiet road. A short walk takes you into the marshes where the wide Norfolk skies can be best appreciated on one of the many paths which criss-cross this area. |
