LINGMELL is a well-appointed double-glazed house accommodating 5 comfortably (+3 with 3 additional beds) and is converted from part of the outbuildings of a country house set in a wooded estate of 5 acres in a very quiet corner of the Lake District opposite the southern end of Coniston Water. Effectively, it is now two connected self-contained flats, one upstairs and one downstairs with EASY ACCESS. There is a strictly NO SMOKING policy in the house. CHILDREN and PETS are welcome.
Accommodation
Upstairs, it has a well-equipped kitchen (with ovens, hob, microwave and fridge), bathroom (with bath and electric shower), lounge (with open fireplace, television, VCR, DVD and hi-fi), dining room and main bedroom (double bed and single Z-bed).
Downstairs, there is another bedroom (with 2 adult bunk beds and a single bed, another electric shower, toilet and washbasin en-suite), a living room (with a double bed and a double Z-bed, easy chairs, table and a second television) and a second kitchen (with a fridge/freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer, cooker and microwave).
Location
This is in a very quiet corner of the Lake District, just off the A5084 Lowick to Torver road, by the bottom end of Coniston Water just north of Water Yeat. It is half an hour from the M6 junction 36.
There is private access across the road to Lake Bank Boat Club pier. A Canadian canoe and kayaks are available for use on request. Public boating and fishing is possible all around the lake.
The Old Man of Coniston can be seen from the house. A walk through the grounds brings you onto the Blawith Fells where there are good walks and excellent views of Coniston Water, the mountains and Morecambe Bay.
