Laird's Inn is a charming well appointed cottage for 4 in the heart of Dunkeld village. It was built in 1800 as a coaching inn but has recently been renovated to a high standard - including central heating! Shops, Cathedral and the River Tay are within easy walking distance. While benefiting from a central location it is found in a quiet courtyard setting.
Accommodation Twin, double bedroom. Bathroom with shower. New kitchen with dishwasher (a must on holiday!) microwave, electric oven and hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer. Central heating and constant hot water. Electricity and gas included in rent.Bed linen, bath and hand towels, dish towels included. Colour TV, DVD, radio and CD player. Colour TV in double bedroom and tea making tray in twin bedroom. Hair dryer, iron, umbrella, dominos and playing cards! Location Little wonder that Beatrix Potter was inspired to write Peter Rabbit while on holiday in Dunkeld and Birnam. While also being readily accessible, this area has the most outstanding natural beauty and wildlife abounds. Dunkeld is a little historic Cathedral town situated just north of Perth on the banks of the Tay. There is even a train service from London to the tiny Victorian station.
Activities include: - Walking, with a net work of inspiring paths, spectacular scenery and wildlife including Ospreys at Loch of the Lowes.
- Golf, 18 hole course at Dunkeld, within easy reach of Gleneagles, St Andrews, Carnoustie.
- Gardens include the Scottish Plant Hunterís Garden in Pitlochry.
- Shopping, including hand painted ceramics at 'Going Pottie'.
- Arts/music abound including events held at the Birnam Arts Centre and the Taybank holds many folk evenings, Pitlochry theatre.
- Whisky - never far away with distilleries in Aberfeldy, Crieff and Pitlochry.
- Outdoor activities abound, whatever the weather! Fishing, 4 wheel driving, quads.
