La Bergerie (The Shieling), at Waternish is a newly built traditional stone cottage open all year overlooking the picturesque fishing village of Stein with breathtaking panoramic views across Loch Bay and the Minch to the Outer Isles. Stein Inn is about a mile away. - It is well situated for viewing wild life and exploring all the delights of Skye, including the historic seat of the Clan MacLeod at Dunvegan.
- This unique and stylish cottage is purpose built to provide an ideal self-catering base for up to 8 persons including elderly/disabled for a truly relaxing and memorable holiday (wheelchair on site).
- Local stone, natural wood and light combine with personal touches such as hand made patchwork to create a unique ambiance reflecting the beautiful surroundings.
Accommodation Light streams through high windows of the living/dining rooom and the balcony overlooking this room will give a truly 'baronial' feel to a dinner with family or friends. Open fire nestles between window seats with uninterrupted views across the sea. 2 twin bedrooms and 2 shower rooms on the ground floor designed for disabled use and 2 bedrooms, (one twin and one double) with a separate spa-bath and shower room on the first floor. Kitchen suitable for disabled, fully equiped with modern conveniences including a big fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, 4 ring gas hob, electric double oven and a microwave. Area for wet coats etc. Skye Satellite TV, DVD and CD player, Hi-fi, Video machine, videos, tapes, games, puzzles and books for all ages. Children welcome, fenced garden, playhouse. Full central heating (oil) is included also lighting materials and a starter supply of wood. The cottage is fully double-glazed throughout. Private car parking. On croft with black Hebridean Sheep.
