 This traditional cottage was originally built for the Birkhall Estate which is now owned by Prince Charles. The cottage is secluded with a sunny, south-facing aspect looking across the woods of Birkhall towards Lochnagar.
Balmoral, the Queen's Highland home, is seven miles away and there are many other castles and superb gardens open to the public within easy reach of the cottage. There are plenty of local walks, good cycling and excellent bird-watching especially in the nearby Glen Muick Nature Reserve.
The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps six. Downstairs there is a spacious twin-bedroom and upstairs there is a twin-bedroom and a double bedroom. All the rooms are furnished to a high standard. There is a bathroom upstairs and a cloakroom with toilet and hand basin downstairs. The large comfortable sitting-room has a wood-burning stove, colour TV and DVD player, and a hi-fi unit. At one end is a dining area. The new fitted kitchen is well equipped with an electric automatic double-oven with ceramic hob, microwave oven, fridge with freezer box, dish-washer and washer/dryer. Freezer in shed. Full gas central heating and double-glazing ensure it is cosy even in the winter. Electricity, gas, bed-linen and towels are included in the rent.
