 Kestrel Lodge is a purpose built holiday lodge in a small non-commercial development 6 miles from Dumfries on the road to Dalbeattie and the Solway Coast. The lodge has lovely views of open countryside and the nearby Mabie Forest which can be accessed directly from the lodge by an old farm track. The 7 Stanes mountain bike tracks can also be accessed from the lodge. - Cycling, walking, golf, bird-watching, fishing, horse riding, beaches and historic monuments are among the many attractions nearby.
- The lodge is very cosy and comfortable all year round.
The lodge consists of: Two bedrooms, one double and one twin bunks. The lounge has patio doors which lead onto a deck overlooking countryside and forest. A sofa bed gives the possibility of 5 guests. There is an enclosed garden and a shed for storage of bikes, golf clubs etc. It is wheelchair friendly with ramp access and wide doorways suitable for accompanied semi-disabled persons. It is double glazed and well insulated. It has Sky TV, video and DVD player. It has a well equipped kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, washer/dryer etc. Linen is not provided and guests are asked to bring their own top and bottom sheets, pillow slips and tea-towels. Duvets are provided. Small/medium well behaved dog welcome by prior arrangement
Parking is available adjacent to the lodge.
