Hurst Cottage is a delightful home full of charm and character. Flag stone floors, stripped wooden doors, an open fireplace and a roll top bath all contribute to the warm welcome. Perfectly situated in the quiet north Dorset town of Stalbridge, it is a wonderful base for exploring Dorset and Somerset.
Cottage details The living room is arranged around a generous open fireplace, and to one end of the room there is a farmhouse style dining table. There is a TV and video player. The kitchen is well equipped with a washing machine, electric cooker and a microwave. Upstairs the double bedroom features a contemporary iron frame bed, the connecting second bedroom has twin beds and in the third bedroom, there is a traditional single bed. The bathroom is wood panelled and houses a roll top bath. All duvets and pillows are provided however we kindly ask our guests to bring their own towels and bed linen. The cottage is heated with storage heaters. (Heating included in price). NB. There is no garden at this cottage. The location - Hurst Cottage is on Gold Street in the Stalbridge Conservation Area.
- Stalbridge is a friendly place between the historic abbey towns of Sherborne and Shaftesbury. The village has a good range of amenities which include churches, an excellent supermarket, a chemist, a post office, a National Westminster bank, and an independent butcher. There are three pubs, and a popular fish and chip shop. (Arrive early on Friday nights!).
- The Jurassic coast is a comfortable drive giving access to the South Coast Path and some of the most beautiful coastline in the country. The following visitor attractions are all less than an hour away from Hurst Cottage: Lytes Cary Manor, Shaftesbury Abbey and Museum, Gold Hill Shaftesbury (The Hovis Hill!), Sherborne Castle and Abbey, Kingston Lacey, Stourhead Gardens, Longleat House and Safari Park, Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral, Bath's Pump rooms.
- The surrounding countryside represents rural England at it's best. If you are looking for a quiet place in which to escape with a wealth of adventure close by, treat yourself to Hurst Cottage.
