Primrose cottage is a delightful two bed roomed cottage set within the rural grounds of Huntshaw Barton, an historic Grade 11 listed farmhouse. We are in close proximity of Great Torrington (which has many attractions such as RHS Rosemoor, Tarka Trail and Dartington Glass Factory and the 1646 Civil War Museum). Instow, Bideford, Barnstaple and Westard Ho! are minutes away and Exmoor and Dartmoor are within an hour's drive.

Primrose Cottagewas an old C16 shippen which has been lovingly restored by the present owners Annie & Stuart Whitehead. It was awarded 4 Stars by VisitBritain. The cottage has maintained its own character with slated roof and floors. The contours of the walls and floor levels are as they were hundreds of years ago. A few of the original beams and stone work are displayed within the walls. All principal rooms have stunning views.

The cottage has its own off road parking and access to a patio area (with garden furniture) from the French doors leading from the kitchen. Guests are most welcome to use our pretty cottage garden.
Well behaved dogs are most welcome, wonderful walks straight from the cottage. (extra price £2.50 per dog per day).
Centrally heated, the cottage offers all year round warmth and instant hot water.
Guests can also purchase our free range eggs from our roaming hens (subject to the feathered girls' mood!).
Sorry but we do not allow children.

Accommodation:

The tall, beamed kitchen/ dining area is equipped to the highest standard with fridge, freezer, washing machine, electric cooker & microwave. Tumble dryer is available. There is a pine table and four cushioned cottage pine chairs. CD player/radio.
A wooden balcony with hand rail for two steps lead down to the tall, beamed sitting area with ceiling to floor window, giving a wonderful view to the surrounding countryside. There are two sofas and a small oval table, digital TV/DVD with remote control.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed with excellent mattress. There is a mirror, clock/radio and hair dryer. The ceiling to floor window gives a wonderful view to the surrounding countryside.
Bedroom 2 has two single beds with excellent mattresses. There is a mirror clock/radio and hair dryer. The window gives a wonderful view to the surrounding countryside.
Freshly laundered bed linen, towels (not beach), duvets and pillows are provided. Each bedroom has its own wardrobe and bed side tables with drawers.
The fully-fitted bathroom with bath, shower attachment, WC and hand basin is next to the bedrooms. There is a shaver point and light.

Primrose Cottage is in a beautiful area surrounded by woods and countryside. We can offer you a wonderful, warm welcome (Devon cream tea on arrival), relaxation and comfort. Our repeat bookings are our sign of success. Famous musicians have stayed with us.
