Hunter Holiday Cottages are in the "Heart of Midlothian", in beautiful countryside on a working arable farm, yet only 10 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city. The 4 cottages provide first class, well equipped, self-catering accommodation in 2, 3 and 4 bedroomed cottages, sympathetically converted from a farm steading. An excellent touring base with easy access to Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders, the East Lothian coastline, West to Glasgow and The Trossachs and North to the Highlands. Stable Cottage The west cottage of a pair of semi-detached cottages in a converted farm building. The cottage was the original stable for the Clydesdale horses with a hayloft above. Full central heating, electricity, wood, duvets, linen & towels are included.
Dairy Cottage The east cottage of a pair of semi-detached cottages in a converted farm building. Whitehill farm was the home farm for Whitehill House. The cottage was the original dairy and byre for ten cows. Full central heating, electricity, wood, duvets, linen & towels are included.
Carrick Cottage A detached cottage across the cobbled courtyard from Dairy and Stable cottages. It too is a converted farm building, at one time the coachman's cottage for Whitehill House. Full central heating, electricity, duvets, linen and towels are included.
Kyle Cottage The ground floor level of what was once the coach house for Whitehill House, dating back to the early 1700's. The cottage has a light, airy feel afforded by the two arched, south facing doorways. Full under-floor central heating, logs, electricity, duvets, linen and towels included.
General information: Children and pets welcome. Minimum stay is usually one week but we can be flexible in the low season. All four cottages booked together would make an ideal base for larger parties. Scottish Tourist Board: 3 Stars.
