This recently-built cottage looks just as if it were built in the 1800's, with stone construction, Georgian sash windows, natural slate roof, and rows of bricks above the lower windows. It blends perfectly into the row of cottages in Glentowan Road, Pentewan, just a few paces from The Square. It is called Horseshoe Cottage because it sits at the start of a circular walk in the village which follows the shape of a Horseshoe and outside there is a bridleway.

Heligan Gardens are so close that some people choose to walk there on the traffic-free cycle trail. Eden is only 8 miles. The long sandy beach at Pentewan, also known as Mevagissey Bay, is even closer at 3 minutes walk! Bicycle hire is also available in the village.

Accommodation
  • Traditionally described as a One-Up-One-Down this cottage offers a full though compact kitchen on the ground floor, together with dining table, lcd TV, stereo CD player and comfortable 2-seater sofa and arm chair. A Sky TV digibox allows the extra free channels to be viewed at no cost.
  • The kitchen houses a full electric oven and hob with extractor fan, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, cupboards equipped to English Tourist Board standards.
  • A wide and well-lit staircase leads to the en-suite bedroom and bathroom. There is a beautiful antique solid wood bed and furniture to match in the same style, including a dressing table with swivel mirror, bedside cabinet and table.
  • The bathroom is fully tiled in white and Grecian Blue and offers a 4ft bath with electric shower attachment and curtain, WC and hand basin.
  • The bedroom TV has a DVD playing facility.
  • Soft lighting can be provided by table lamps in the evening whilst ample light is provided during the day by three pretty cottage style windows overlooking village properties clinging to the hillside and the river which flows into the harbour and out to sea. Ducks can be spotted waddling past the front door on occassions.

Outside
Outside there is room for a table and 2 chairs on the patio.
Fold-away garden furniture is stored under the stairs for the use of guests.
