The Quantock hills stretch along a ridge of about 12 miles rising from just above Honeysuckle cottage to the coast. They are the main feature of the first ever designated area of outstanding natural beauty which was created in 1957, so much remains unspoiled. Higher House and the cottages are about 650ft above sea level and so from all parts of our land (some 8 acres which rise higher up Lydeard Hill), there are fabulous views of the vale of Taunton and Exmoor.

If you like historic trips, the city of Bath is about an hour's drive away.
More importantly though, Wordsworth and Coleridge spent some time here and Coleridge's cottage in Nether Stowey is just over the hill - about 2 miles from Honeysuckle Cottage.

Honeysuckle Cottage, is a charming 2 bedroom conversion from original stabling attached to Higher House.

Honeysuckle cottage has a double and single bedroom. However the single bedroom can sleep 2 in full size single beds, making the room quite comfortable for 1 adult or 2 children.
Honeysuckle Cottage also has a good size kitchen/dining room (with washing machine, dishwasher and microwave) with fine old beams and a small country sitting room.
The main bedroom has one 5ft bed (or 2x 2'6" twin) with pool/garden views.
The other bedroom is just across the landing.
The bathroom has a bath and electric power shower.
The cottage has a charming and light disposition and because it is centrally heated, it's comfortable all year round.

Facilities

For the more adventurous, you can use the shared swimming pool in the sun trap courtyard or try your hand at tennis on our court - we provide a couple of rackets!
Alternatively, you can explore the beautiful Quantock hills by foot, car, bike or horse.
The Cedar Falls Health Spa and 9-hole golf course are only half a mile away.
