Honey Barrel Cottage is a cosy and attractive brick and flint cottage situated in the heart of the village of Stiffkey (between Blakeney and Wells) on the North Norfolk coast. Regularly re-decorated, tastefully furnished and exceptionally well equipped, Honey Barrel Cottage has all the home-from-home comforts one could wish for.
Accommodation The sitting room is snug and very comfortable with the original stripped pine beamed ceiling and comfortable seating on two sofas. One wall is dominated by a massive brick fireplace housing a wood-burning stove (logs included). There is a tv, video, cd/cassette player and radio and a selection of videos, cds and board games. The kitchen is a lovely mix of pine and pamments and overlooks the patio. A steep staircase leads from the sitting room to a small landing off which are two bedrooms. Each has a double bed and rich honey coloured stripped pine floor boards. Crisp sheets, duvets and large fluffy towels are provided and the beds are made up on your arrival. The sunny, south facing dining room with its large reclaimed pine table and woodburning stove makes a lovely day room. The dining room opens onto a small enclosed courtyard with a patio, garden furniture and a barbecue. The courtyard is completely enclosed and is a wonderful sun trap. From the cottage it is an easy walk down rough tracks onto the marsh. From there, one is free to roam for miles along the marshes and out to Blakeney Harbour and the open sea. The area is superb for bird watching and there are beaches of every description within easy reach.
