GUEST COMMENTS
"Very clean and comfortable house with excellent facilities. Lovely area especially Alnwick, Chillingham and the beach at Bamburgh. The children loved those!!"
"Excellent! Highly recommended.Clean and well equipped with plenty to see and do on your doorstep."
Belford and the surrounding area - Belford was a coaching stop on the A1. Today this attractive village is now a perfect touring centre for the coast and hills of North Northumberland. It is an ideal village from which to explore the area.
- Belford has a Co-op supermarket. There are 3 pubs / 2 serving meals plus meals at the golf club, tea rooms, fish and chip shop. There is a Post office, Art gallery and interesting local shops serving local produce.
- The beautiful village of Bamburgh is 4 miles away. There are lots of restaurants, pubs and cafes in the area together with an excellent butcher, delicatessen, greengrocer and other village shops.
Out and About - The coastline of North Northumberland is well known for its sandy beaches and superb scenery. The nearest sandy, secluded beach is 3 miles away.
- Boat launching at Seahouses and Beadnell (particularly good for dinghies and windsurfers).
- Northumberland has picturesque villages overlooked by magnificent castles such as Bamburgh, Chillingham, Dunstanburgh. Alnwick is a larger town and is guarded by a stunning castle, used for scenes in Harry Potter films. The Alnwick Gardens are internationally famous with fountains, the 'poison garden' and a huge wooden treehouse with restaurants and play areas; a haven for children. Ford and Etal, with the minature railway are nearby.
- Just off this stretch of coastline, lie the Farne Islands. Well known by SCUBA divers and naturalists alike, these islands are host to a diverse cross section of bird and marine life, including seals, together with other coastal species. Boat trips to the Farnes can be arranged from Seahouses 8 miles south.
- There are interesting market towns in the region. Alnwick and Berwick have weekly markets and are only 15 miles away. Wooler is an interesting market town, just a few miles inland.
- Belford has an excellent golf course and Golf driving range. There are numerous golf courses just a few miles from the house.
- A visit to the region would not be complete without a visit to Holy Island; a 20 minute drive from Belford.
- Young or old, walker, bird-watcher, golfer or sandcastle builder the area has something for everyone.
Short breaks - phone for availability. In Season please check for late availability.
