This beautifully restored 17th century house is ideally situated in the centre of the small Northumbrian village of Belford, directly opposite the market cross (shown in the photo).
Accommodation is ample, sleeping up to 6 people: The house offers many original features, including a 17th century wood/coal burning fireplace; and an inglenook recess in the kitchen. Stained glass windows are a feature throughout the house, as well as a Victorian roll top bath. - There are 3 bedrooms: One twin, one double and one en-suite double.
- There is a large lounge upstairs dressed with original Peruvian furniture, an old style gas burning stove, TV and video.
- There is also a separate WC and bathroom upstairs.
- Downstairs one can find a tranquil sitting/reading room, which houses a wood/coal burning Georgian fireplace.
- The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, tumble dryer, washing machine and dishwasher.
- French doors lead from the kitchen into the garden, which has seating areas, patio, grass lawn, wild flower beds and a barbecue at the rear.
- The garden is a great sun trap. The utility/breakfast room, behind the kitchen also has a door opening up into the garden.
Services: Gas central heating is throughout the house. All gas and electricity are included in the price. (£20 surcharge in winter - includes logs + coal. Bed linen, duvets and covers are provided, but you must bring your own towels. £10 per dog. The village of Belford is well equipped with 2 grocery stores, newsagent and other shops of interest. There are 3 public houses in the village (the Blue Bell does very good bar meals). There is also a nine hole golf course, a hotel, and a local fish and chip shop.
North Northumberland is abundantly supplied with places of interest, and the surrounding countryside and coastline with its sandy beaches are ideal for those who enjoy the outdoors.
